Where is Karen C(K)ates? send wes (wes1951@yahoo.com)an email if you know, Information below the photo
I am wondering if anyone in the Class of '69 remembers if a Karen Cates(Kates) was enrolled at Frayser High?
If she was, can someone tell me what happened to her.... when she moved, or anything about her?
She would have been a member of the Class of 1969. She wasn't listed in the senior pictures.

I have a picture you might want to include on your Yahoo! Group site, or your GeoCities web site.
I don't know how many of the kids in the picture went on to attend Frayser High, but I do know a few of them did.

Nancy Haynes (Class of '69) (2nd row, 1st person) (gave her a bracelet one Easter)
Teresa Parker (Class of '69) (3rd row, 2nd from the right) (Teresa's dad was a policeman ?)
Brenda Rhodes (Class of '69) (2nd row, 5th from the left) (dance partner on Wink Martindale & Lamar Ricci/Rickie's "Dance Party")
Sharon Pruitt (Class of '69) (1st row, 3rd from the right) (she broke my heart when she told me she liked Dale ? (last name?) (He is in the picture somewhere... possibly 1st row, 5th from the left.)

Karen Cates (Kates) (Frayser High ? ) (2nd row, 3rd from the right) (*** smartest kid in the class ***)

Keith (last name?) (1st row, 2nd from the right) (was in Cub Scouts)
Donna (last name?) (1st row, 3rd from the left) (got sick in class one day... had something to do with a toy soldier)
Clifton (last name?) (3rd row, 2nd from the left) (scratched his name on his arm)
Werner or Warner (last name?) (3rd row, 3rd from the left) (from Vancouver, Canada)
Ernie Barton (1st row, 4th from the right) (lived on Parham St...moved to Florida in 1959 or 1960)
Wesley Snelgrove (1st row, 1st person) (lived on Parham St... moved to Richwood, West Virginia in the Fall of 1960)
Ms. Clifton (standing on the left) (she was my favorite teacher... her daughter swallowed a quarter)

Had I remained in Memphis, I would have been a member of your graduating class.
I lived on Parham St. as did Walter Plumlee and Brenda Rhodes. Nancy Haynes lived one street over from us.
I believe it was Adair, but not sure about the street name. If I remember correctly, Nancy's family moved from Adair in '59 or '60.

I have enjoyed looking at the class site on GeoCities. Some of the fondest memories of my childhood are in Memphis.
I have often wondered what it would have been like to have remained in Memphis and attended Frayser High.
When traveling across country through the years, I used to stop and visit friends on Parham St. I'll always have a special place for Memphis in my memory.
Again, any information you or any class member may be able to provide on Karen Cates would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks much for your time..... Wesley Snelgrove
