Friday April 23rd

For those staying at the Hotel, there will be a Hospitality Suite in the Audubon Room. Currently it is planned to have someone in the suite around 3pm if anyone needs information. There will be water and soft drinks there.

If you are staying at the Ridgeway Inn and want to follow someone to Greg and Nancy Grinders house,, then send Jimmy an email (vorlonjb@yahoo.com). If this would be helpful I will meet you at the hotel in the Lobby at 6pm and will lead a caravan, but let me know ahead of time. You can also call me at 901-755-5876 or 901-493-7521(cell).

Our Greet and Meet even at Gregs House will begin at 7pm. We will have appetizers and soft drinks. Feel free to bring your drink of choice BYOB.

Our Entertainment and Food Committees have been hard at work planning for the Saturday Night Banquet.

Doors will open at 6:30 to start meeting people, Banquet begins at 7:00 ; Class Photo around 7:20 ; Dinner around 8pm (Buffet) and Band/Dancing at 9pm till 1am.

ALL Graduates of Frayser High School who attend the ReUnion are welcome and encouraged to be in the Class ReUnion Photo.

There will be Entertainment, and prize drawings thru the night; recognition of our Guests and secret special entertainment.

Class Photo - the Photographer will have information on cost and how to sign up
for a class photo.

ReUnion CD- At the Check-in desk to get your Badge on Saturday night, there will be
a sign-up sheet if you are interested in getting a CD with all the ReUnion
photos. Cost of shipping and packaging will be $3 and there will be a
fishbowl to put money in. The photos will also be posted to the class
webpage, but if interested in a CD sign up there, or send in money later.

All the hard work the Reunion Committee has been doing is coming together and WE ALL LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU THERE!!

 

 

Cutoff to Attend ReUnion is April 3rd 2004
To complete arrangements for our Saturday Night Banquet, we must have all monies in by April 3rd. Please get your checks to Linda Johnston Black by that date, and if you have email, drop her a note that it is in the mail, and to be looking for it.

ReUnion Update February 10th 2004

As of February 10th, 2004 we have 121 classmates & guests have committed to attending our 35th ReUnion and many others who have indicated that that hope to attend.

Frayser Classmates from other Years: If you have friends in the CLASS OF 1969 and want to see them again, you are invited to attend. Contact any of the ReUnion Committee Members or Monty and Jimmy and we will get any information not on the webpage. Cost is $60 per Person

Attire: Clothing is required for both the Friday and Saturday Events.

Friday Nite: We are meeting at Greg and Nancy Grinders home on Friday April 23rd. Attire is casual to Jeans. Just come and be comfortable and get acquainted with your classmates.

Saturday Nite: The Saturday event at the Ridgeway Inn is planned from 7pm to 1am. We are trying to arrange the schedule so you can begin gathering around 6:30pm and start greeting each other. Attire will again be come and be comfortable. You can dress business casual, dressy or real casual. Important thing is that we get to greet each other again. Again clothes and shoes are required.

Teachers: Coach Dossett Foster and Ms Townsend will attend the ReUnion.

Checks: It is not too late to attend the ReUnion; Many of you have sent us emails and called that you want to come but have conflicts that you are trying to work around. Just drop an email to any of the reunion committee members or Monty mjcdod@hotmail.com or Jimmy at vorlonjb@yahoo.com, and let us know that you are still trying to attend so we can keep you in our count and plans. Send this checks to Linda Johnston Black who is our Treasurer.

Food: The Food Committee is busy looking at Food. They are discussing buffets
versus other options and will make a recommendation at the next Meeting.
If you have special dietary needs, please let us know as soon as possible.

The Food and Entertainment Committees have been hard at work trying to build an exciting agenda of food, entertainment and fun for us all.

Hotel: At the last Reunion meeting it was stated that we needed to book our rooms
at the Ridgeway Inn by April 1st to get the $79 discount. Normal rate is $119. If you have any trouble getting this discount, please let us know.

Information: Many are traveling from outside Memphis. Memphis has changed
of course, and if you need directions or information, let one of us
know and we will track down for you.

WebPage: Please continue to send in updates on your addresses, and if you know
how to contact anyone on the lost classmates list, let us know.

Send in any info about yourself, your bio, where you work etc, and we
will add this info to our hidden directory. It is a good way to start
getting back in touch with each other.

Memorials: We have lost many friends. If you have stories or remembrances about them,
or info on how they passed away, send to Jimmy or Monty.

 

 

ReUnion Update Dec 22nd

If you haven't received your December Newsletter yet, it should be receiving it in the next week. Monty has been busy mailing out around 200 letters.

Your packet includes a Newsletter, a 2004 Calendar from your ReUnion Committee and a list of the classmates we haven't been able to locate yet. Please go to the
Directory and see if you can help us locate the Unknowns.

Survey Update - we have received 64surveys back, both online and snail
mail. A total of 94people have responded they are definitely coming thru the survey but more have indicated they plan to attend the 35th Class Reunion..

Remember to get your checks to Linda Johnson Black by January 31st, or let her know when you will be sending funds.

Hotel Update - Go ahead and make your hotel reservations if needed. Brenda Cotton Grinder signed a contract with the Ridgeway Inn. We need to know if we need to block more rooms. Some classmates in Memphis are staying at the hotel just for convenience. There is a special rate, so mention Frayser Class of 1969 rate. The hotel provides a free shuttle
to and from the airport. If there is a need we will try and arrange for transportation to the Grinders home in Eads, or if you want to follow someone there, so you don't get lost, just let one of the committee members know. The committee members are listed on the homepage, and there have been a number of other classmates participating in reunion planning activities.

In the last committee meeting we swooped into Maurice Buring's homestead and he fed us all. Meal was great and we appreciated the hospitality. The Food Committee is discussing FOOD, and trying to decide on a buffet or planned meal. If you have any preferences let us know, but we plan to have lots of food. If you have special dietary needs, also let us know ahead of time.

If you would like to sing, dance, play a musical instrument or mime; let Linda Black know. We will try and fit you onto the agenda..

Music Update - A group went to listen to some musical groups and Eddie Harrison& the Shortkuts will provide the music Saturday night. We’ll ask the band to play from 9 - 1 to allow us to present our awards and visit with each other.

We are planning to have a brief memorial time and toast to our fallen classmates. If you have any pictures or comments or memories of those listed on the Memoriam page, that you would like put into a memorial slideshow, send to Jimmy or Monty

Time is rapidly approaching for our next ReUnion. We hope you all have a very Merry Christmas Season and a Happy 2004.

Please continue to send in pictures of yourself or memories of the past to update the webpage. We've received notes from other classes who wish their class had this type of communications and could share. Your pictures and memories have brought back memories from our classmates and their memories.

ReUnion Update September 12th

HOTEL: The Ridgeway Inn is booked. It can hold between 200-300 people plus for our sit down dinner and celebration.

ROOMS: We will block rooms for you to reserve, be sure to fill in either the online survey or survey that was mailed to you and let us know you are coming, and if you will definitely or maybe need a room.

MUSIC: A small subcommittee is visiting 3 musical groups to select the one most likely to please our group and will make a selection by the October ReUnion meeting.

WHICH TEACHERS: The ReUnion committee is looking at inviting some of our former teachers as our guests to the 35th ReUnion. Please send your suggestions for teachers you would like to see, to Monty, Jimmy or any on the ReUnion committee.

YOUR INFORMATION: The Committee has been hard at work finding classmates, and are down to the last 70. A lot of addresses are being updated on the directory and hidden directory. Please look at your information from time to time and make sure it is correct, and let us know if it needs updating.

If you have paid and sent your check to Jimmy or Linda, it should be noted on the directory page. If not, just let Linda or Jimmy know and we will correct it. (Ben yours has been updated now).

If you haven't received a survey in the mail, call Monty or Jimmy and we will get one to you.

If you haven't received the URL to the hidden directory with all our addresses let us know.

Remember to send us any pictures or stories. We have had many comments from other classmates about your stories and pictures,,it is bringing back memories of their own.

You will receive an Invitation and a Survey in the mail in the next 3-4 weeks. It will be the same Survey on this Webpage. You only need to fill out any information you haven't already provided.

Return the Survey in the stamped envelope provided.

If you can also send in your check for $60 per person made out to

Send your checks in as soon as possible, but at least by January 31st; but please go ahead and let us know you are coming.
