Andy Black & Linda Johnston-Black
We've been married 34 years this coming June. Our lives have been truly blessed.
We have two sons. Nathan just turned 28 and lives in Cordova with his family. Yes, this means we are grandparents and love every minute we get to spend with them.
Jeff is 17 and will graduate from high school this May. He plans to attend U of M next fall. Both of our sons inherited their father's artist talents and Nathan is into Music as well.

Andy has worked in sound recording as long as we can remember (let's not go into that memory thing right now). But he has run his own small business, Audio Media Productions, for 25 + years. After 22 years at FedEx, Linda was able to take them up on their offer of early retirement last fall. She now enjoys doing her own thing (reading, writing, doing some volunteer work and spending lots more time at home).

We both look forward to seeing our old friends at the reunion. I think we're at a time in our lives when we really appreciate the people who have influenced our lives even in small ways. We also like to reminisce about the good ole days. At least what we can remember!

We're sending a picture so you'll be able to recognize us. We've changed a bit in the past 35 years.

For the last 30 years I have been married to the same man...how he has
stood it, I will never know...I have two step children and two children of my own...7 stepgrandchildren....5 dogs and 45 acres...we have a small heavy equipment business and I am his "dozer-man", partner, secretary, go-fer, etc...

As many of you know, my dad,Bill Black, played the bass for Elvis in the early years and later hadhis own combo (5 men) which did well including earning 4 gold records...my siblings and I have been asked on numerous occasions to attend awards banquets where my dad was honored...in April there will be a special on PBS stations about
the song "That's Alright Mama" Elvis's first song...we have been
invited to participate in that event as well....I am involved in the local "theatre" here and have enjoyed being "other people" in plays..yeah , yeah, I know how that must sound...

I am actively involved in the local church here and am a
Christian (what a struggle)...in our business it is usually "feast" or "famine" when it comes to finances...

Monty asked for any wisdom we have learned over the
years...I have learned that you sure learn a lot more during the
"famines" in your life than the "feasts" in your life......so I should be really skinny and really smart, huh....

see ya soon....nancy

Since that infamous time, May 1969, I have bee around the world and
fortunately back. As with a lot of my comrades I headed off to Tiger
High(now I understand it is the "University of Memphis") where I majored in cigarette ash thumping in the student center. The government got word of my prowess with aiming those ashes and butts and invited me to join the Army and service in Vietnam where that aim talent would work best. Got shot (seems their aim was better than mine) but got to come home and went back to Tiger High and graduated. My mother stills tells me that I graduated "ahh, lordy" versus sigma cum laud a, but at least I got out. I spent the next decade working for Junior College down in Senatobia, Mississippi.
Then decided to seek something more challenging and answered an add in the Jackson, Mississippi newspaper for someone to work closing banks.
Seemed a challenge and joined the FDIC in December 1985 and am still here. Did do a lot of traveling with moves for me and family 5 times in first 6 years then 3 more times in last few years. It was a very interesting time and lot of war stories at these closings. I now reside outside of Atlanta, Georgia and hope to retire from here in 7 years.

My main interest now is Golf. Play at it regularly. Got my handicap
Index down to 9.5, but can shoot 78 one day and 98 the next. My son is now 30 years old and lives in Virginia. My wife Marie (who sales Real
Estate) and I have been married for about 14 years now and she has one son who got married last year and told us at Christmas he was making us
grandparents.

I am too young for that, but I suspect behind a lot of my classmates?

Jimmy Burk
Hi Classmates
This is Jimmy Burk, your manipulator of the Frayser Webpage. Hope you are all doing fine. I live in Cordova(but got annexed by Memphis) in a home I built 24 years ago on 4 acres. It took me 4 years to build it,,,and I am still working on it. I've been working at Fedex for about 24 years now and manage technology and development departments. Linda Johnston Black, Doug Jones and Don Tummins are among several that have worked in Memphis for Fedex. I am looking forward to retirement in a couple years and doing new things and starting a new career.

I have been enjoying working with Monty and the rest of the ReUnion Committee. Hope to see all of you in Memphis April 23-24 for the 35th Class of 69 ReUnion.

We need more pictures and stories from you, keep them coming in and share.

Picture to left includes my wife Stephanie and two great sons: Josh and Jonathan

I wanted to include the following link for all of you who have children or grandchildren. We lost our 16 year old nephew over a year ago. He and about 4 other high school classmates decided to experiment with some anti-depression drugs. He took the drug about 5 times, and lost his life due to drugs like Zoloft which can cause suicidal tendencies in teenagers who would never have such thoughts. My brother Ray put together this information page to warn parents and teenagers about these dangers.
